Kitchen Corner

Normally we have some travel photographs in this corner of our kitchen. I put these up to photograph for an Etsy listing. It talks to me.

Hand Painted Gift Tags, on Etsy

I've added an orange variation to my gift tags on Etsy.

Finally, some art.

Here is a preview of what I've been doing after the kids are in bed. They are all works in progress. Want to see what they will become? Come to my Pashmina Party and mini art sale at the end of November. More details to come.

Before and After

No, it's not the living room, but a painting I've been picking away at for a while now. I use a lot of masking tape with my paintings. I never quite know how it will turn out.

Slowly

It's been difficult for me to paint as much as I'd like to lately, let alone post anything to this blog or put things up on Etsy. Slowly, I'm staring to get back to doing as much as I'd like. Keyword is "slowly."

Advent

Bulletin covers for Advent at church. Inspired by "Es ist ein Ros Entsprungen" and the concept of the unexpected at Christmas.
Meant to be viewed on their own in succession and in a row.

Round two: all is well.

This is my second try at this idea and the first piece of art I made in my new home. Pictures of my studio to come, once it is all set up.

Inspiration

J gave me a fantastic book for our anniversary. The designs are so simple and charming. I think it's really going to inspire my work for a while.

Painting at P's

I went to my best friend's house today. We met in university in a fine arts class. I needed to make a few cards and she needed to make a gift. I always seem to have good luck with my work when I'm with her. The last picture is out of my sketchbook.

Birthday Birches

My mom turned 60 this year! It's very hard for me to believe. I think she looks very good for her age. They just bought a new house this year as well, so her birthday request was something to go on the dining room wall.
